Q: What size or sizes should l use for deep dropping along the norther Gulf Coast?
A: Most people from the Big Bend of Florida to Louisiana use 2lb - 5lb depending on the depth and the species they are targeting. If unsure, our suggestion would be to split your order between 3lb and 5lb weights. Take at least two of each weights per rod on the boat. Most boats only fish two rods at a time so 4 - 3lbers and 4 - 5lbers is typically a safe bet when starting out.
